Make It Big was BigCommerce’s unapologetically bold brand campaign celebrating the trailblazers behind iconic consumer favorites like Skullcandy, Jeni’s Ice Cream, and Kelty Outdoors. We set out to spotlight the humans, lifestyles, and products that make these brands tick—capturing their energy through persona interviews, documentary-style films, and both studio and on-location photoshoots. 

Additional synopsis
The result became a full-funnel ecosystem: a microsite experience, social activations, and a wide-reaching digital ad campaign that turned these brands into our ambassadors and our ambassadors into our storytellers. We didn’t stop there—we wove Make It Big into BigCommerce events and initiatives across the company, transforming a single campaign into an always-on celebration of the brands that live large and build even bigger.

Make it Big 2.0

 

The Make it Big campaign was such a success that the marketing department made it their central brand annual campaign for the company. We extended the campaign from a pure brand play, to play a central role in our content strategy and event experiences.

Over the next several years, the Make Big campaign grew to include annual customer awards, case studies, and a full Make it Big podcast series. The flagship event was the Make it Big conference, which featured industry experts like Seth Godin, John Mackey, Tyler Haney, and Mark Cuban.
